At the  climax of the Lazarus narrative, the 6th sign, just as the stone is rolled  away from the tomb, Jesus will say,''œDid I not tell you that if you  believe, you will see the glory of God?' God is glorified through the  reversal of death. Through these events, even though the family Jesus' loves  will experience pain and grief in the process, God's majesty and honour is  demonstrated. @Growing-Disciples

Jesus Christ will return to both judge and to rule over a new creation. That creation� a renewed creation� is the shared home of both God and humanity. As adopted �sons� of God, we will share in the inheritance rule of his true Son.

Jesus Christ will return to both judge and to rule. As creatures we do not challenge his right to judge, nor the justice of his judgements. Instead, we will praise him that his judgment is perfectly fair and true.

The Return of Jesus Christ heralds our own resurrection from the dead, in new spiritual bodies fit for life in the new creation.

Advent is the season to remind ourselves that Jesus Christ will return. We won�t know when, so we�d better be always ready, diligently using our Master�s gifts and resources to advance his kingdom.

The spatial language of the bible� �up, down, in, out�� refers to an understanding of the universe that is different to our own. This doesn�t make it wrong, but it requires us to think carefully about what is intended to be conveyed by it. At the Return of Jesus Christ, those who have previously died in Christ will come up from the dead, and come with Jesus (who has come down from heaven), to be re-united with those still alive� somewhere above the earth but not in heaven! Confusing? Yes. But of great comfort and assurance.
